Female pedestrian killed in Kerry road crash

Gardaí in Kerry are tonight investigating a fatal road crash in which a female pedestrian was killed.

The woman in her 40s was struck by a car in poor weather on the main Tralee to Listowel road shortly after 5pm.

Her body was taken to Kerry General Hospital where a postmortem is due to take place.

Gardaí are appealing to motorists who were in the area at the time to contact them.

The road is closed at present and is not expected to re-open until tomorrow afternoon.
