Search for missing Irish pensioner in Italy
A search operation is currently taking place in northern Italy for an 82-year-old Irish woman who went missing on Friday while on holiday.
Mairead Geary from Limerick went missing during a walk on Mt Mottarone, near Lake Maggiore.
A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that a major search operation is underway for the pensioner and that the Irish Embassy in Rome is liasing with the Italian police.
Members of Ms Geary's family have travelled out to Italy to help with the search.
