Boy(4) critical after falling into Clare river
GENEVIEVE CARBERRYA four-year-old boy has been taken to hospital following an emergency search of the River Fergus in Ennis Co Clare.
The child went into the water between an industrial estate and a housing estate on the Gort Road some time before 6pm this evening.
The fire service, gardaí, Civil Defence, Doolin Coast Guard and Shannon based coast guard helicopter were called to take part in the search.
The boy was taken to Ennis General hospital by the ambulance service. The child's condition is not yet known.
