Man jailed over Twitter threats to rape London MP

Peter Nunn retweeted posts threatening to rape Stella Creasy and branded her a ‘witch’

The Labour MP for London's Walthamstow spoke of how she feared for her safety as a Twitter troll was jailed for 18 weeks for bombarding her with abusive messages.

Peter Nunn (33), from Bristol, retweeted posts threatening to rape Stella Creasy, and branded her a "witch". A victim impact statement by Ms Creasy was read out, describing how he caused "misery to her and her family".

She was targeted after she supported a campaign by Caroline Criado-Perez to put Jane Austen on the £10 note. District Judge Elizabeth Roscoe also imposed a restraining order banning him from contact with Ms Creasy. – (PA)
