Rescuers dig for car bomb victims in Nigeria

President Goodluck Jonathan blames the Boko Haram terrorist network for the attack

Rescue workers are digging through rubble in the search for more victims of twin car bomb blasts that collapsed buildings in a bustling marketplace and bus station in the Nigerian city of Jos.

More than 118 bodies have been recovered so far and dozens of wounded are being treated in hospital.

Emergency co-ordinator Mohammed Abdulsalam said firefighters fought through the night to douse blazes ignited by the bombs.

President Goodluck Jonathan said he blamed the Boko Haram terrorist network for the attack, assuring Nigerians their government “remains fully committed to winning the war against terror”.
