Woman rescued after Howth fall

A woman was rescued yesterday evening after falling from a path near the Baily Lighthouse in Howth.

A woman was rescued yesterday evening after falling from a path near the Baily Lighthouse in Howth.

The woman, who was out walking with a friend, fell 6m from a narrow section of the path onto rocks below.

A member of the public alerted the Dublin coast guard to the incident shortly before 5pm. A helicopter, which was in the area at the time, was diverted to the scene.

The woman was stretchered to safety and was brought to Tallaght hospital where her injuries are said to include broken bones.
