Galway Continental Christmas Market

The Christmas market continues this weekend with Christmas-themed installations, light displays, crafts from local and European traders and a Santa’s grotto run by local charities. From 10am-10 pm in Eyre Square.

The market features a vintage carousel, a helter-skelter and craft and food stalls. Choirs and local groups entertain on an outdoor stage as shoppers browse at the Grand Parade and Bishop Lucey Park, until Sunday 10am- 8pm

Waterford Winterval

This festival continues this weekend with attractions such as an hourly 3D light and sound show in Cathedral Square from 5pm-10pm, an exhibition of old toys from around the world, an ice rink, a traditional Christmas market and a Christmas trail with storytelling and craft making.

Irish Design Winter Showcase

The design store Designist presents the winter showcase, featuring products from contemporary Irish designers such as Atheist Shoes, Burren Perfumery, Foxford Woollen Mills, Kovet, Me Him You, Mint Design, Rachel McKnight and Red Dog. The event takes place in the ground floor gallery of the Little Museum of Dublin, and runs until December 23rd.

Carolling for a Cause

The University of Dublin Choral Society will carol in support of the Dublin Simon Community this afternoon from 1pm-3 pm at St Stephens Green Shopping Centre. Listening is free, but donations to Simon Community are welcome.

Katherine Jenkins

The Welsh singer, credited with widening the audience for classical music with appearances on TV shows such as the X-Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and The Apprentice, will give a concert with an orchestra and choir tonight at the Dublin O2, Dublin, at 6.30pm.
