Two men in their 20s died in road traffic collisions in Mayo and Dublin yesterday.

Two men in their 20s died in road traffic collisions in Mayo and Dublin yesterday.

Martin Collins (23), who was living in Ballina, was a passenger in a van which collided with another van on the R321 near Ballylahan Bridge, Bahola at around 5pm yesterday.

Mr Collins was taken to Mayo General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second man, also in his 20s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, a man in his late 20s was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car at the junction of Palmerstown Woods estate and Station Road in Dublin at about 8.15 pm last night.

He was taken by ambulance to Tallaght hospital where he was pronounced dead. His passenger, a man in his 20s, was also taken to hospital with injuries.
