Two bodies discovered in Carlow

Gardaí in Carlow are investigating the death of two people in their 50s after their bodies were found this afternoon.

The bodies of the man and woman were found at about 1.30pm today in a room in a property on Centaur Street in Carlow town.

The State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau were at the scene this afternoon, a Garda spokeswoman said. The bodies were removed in a hearse at 7.30pm.

Postmortems are scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at Naas General Hospital.

Gardaí appealed to anyone who was in the area of Centaur Street between 10pm last night and 1pm today who may have seen anything unusual to contact Carlow Garda station, the Garda Confidential Line on 1 800 666 111 or any Garda station.
