‘I feel like it’s a massive moment. It is acceptable now’

John and Edward Grimes, or Jedward as they are better know, have come out in favour of a Yes vote in the marriage referendum.

"I feel like it's a massive moment. It is acceptable now," said John Grimes, who is is the elder twin, by 10 minutes.

"People should vote Yes because there's no big deal. People make a big deal out of it, but the answer should be Yes," he told The Irish Times at an event at Facebook headquarters in Dublin.

“The answer should be Yes because everyone deserves equality,” said Edward Grimes.

After taking Eurovision by storm for a second time in 2012, the Irish pop star twins lent their support to marriage equality rallies taking place across Australia. The twins were in Sydney in November 2013 and showed support for the campaign there in favour of same-sex marriage by having their picture taken with marchers.
