Ireland broke the Guinness World Record in July when 1,693 people from 44 countries gathered on the Samuel Beckett Bridge and the banks of the Liffey to perform the Riverdance/The Gathering Longest Line. The event was watched by an audience of thousands, who lined the quays from Samuel Beckett Bridge to the Sean O'Casey Bridge, cheering on the participants as they danced into the record books. The competition 'Reunite in Ireland for Valentine's Day' saw winner Romain Vigo Benio surprise his girlfriend Julia Schafer at Dublin Airport, where members of the Dublin Gospel Choir broke into song to accompany their meet-up. The couple met while both living in Dublin, but Julia has since returned to Germany to continue her studies. They were reunited for Valentine's Day courtesy of Ireland's Blue Book.
