Taoiseach says Cabinet discussed implications of Scottish vote

Kenny ‘not going to pre-judge what the Scottish people will do’

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said today the Cabinet has discussed the implications for Ireland of both a Yes and No vote in the Scottish independence referendum.

Mr Kenny said he would wait for a definitive result before commenting on what the Scottish people’s decision will mean for Ireland.

“I’m not going to pre-judge what the Scottish people will do and are doing today. That’s their decision,” he said.

“We have discussed the implications of the vote either way, so I’ll wait and see what the judgement of the Scottish people is.”
