The long-awaited Personal Insolvency Bill 2012 is expected to return to the Dáil chamber for report and final stages. It will allow debtors to emerge from bankruptcy after three years instead of the current 12.

Committees sitting

The education and social protection committee will hear a presentation from the Special Needs Parents Association and receive pre-budget audits from Social Justice Ireland and the think tank Tasc. Meanwhile, the secretary general of the Department of Finance, John Moran, is expected before the finance committee .

Minister of State Alex White is due before the Upper House, where statements on alcohol consumption will be delivered. Mr White has said the substance misuse strategy will be brought to Cabinet soon.
