New manager for Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council

Philomena Poole set to replace Owen Keegan

A new county manager has been selected for Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council to replace Owen Keegan, who moved to Dublin City Council last year.

The Public Appointments Commission has recommended Philomena Poole for the position. Her appointment will now be put to the county councillors for ratification.

Ms Poole is currently Louth county manager and would be leaving that position after just six months in the job. She has 36 years’ experience in the local authority sector and was director of services and deputy county manager of South Dublin County Council before taking up the Louth post.

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has been managed by Kathleen Holohan on an interim basis since Mr Keegan left last September after getting the job of Dublin city manager.
