N Korea food aid talks planned

TOKYO - Japan, South Korea and the US will hold working level talks in Tokyo next Wednesday on the situation in North Korea. Tokyo is expected to face greater pressure to use its surplus rice stockpiles and join the other two countries in extending humanitarian aid to solve acute food shortages in the Stalinist state. Because of suspected kidnappings of Japanese by North Korea, Japan has shown reluctance to join the food aid drive.
