Loyalist band members arrested
Members of a loyalist flute band filmed marching in circles outside a Catholic Church in Belfast during the summer have been arrested on suspicion of provocative conduct.
The Young Conway Volunteers flute band, which is based in the city’s Shankill Road, was accused of playing sectarian music outside St Patrick’s Church in Donegall Street on July 12th.
The PSNI said 11 males aged between 15 and 42 were arrested and questioned on suspicion of provocative conduct outside the church.
They were arrested in the north Belfast area over the last number of days. Three other males were also interviewed by police in connection with the incident.
The men were also interviewed on suspicion of a breach of a Parades Commission determination in the Donegal St area on Saturday the 25th of August.
The 14 have been released pending a report to the public prosecution service for both offences.
