Broadcaster and journalist Vincent Browne last night launched his new current affairs magazine, Village, which in its first issue warns of how the health services could develop under the Progressive Democrats. Martin Wall reports.

Mr Browne said the magazine, which goes on sale today, highlights what the Tánaiste, Ms Harney, had previously said about the development of the health services and contrasts this to her Dáil speech on Wednesday on her appointment as Minister for Health.

He said the magazine would report in-depth on the controversial dissolution of the expert group which was drawing up guidelines on child protection.

Mr Browne said he hoped the tabloid-size magazine would sell about 20,000 copies a week.
