Arthur Beesley has been appointed Political News Editor.
Beesley was European Correspondent from 2009 until 2012, covering the euro zone debt crisis from Brussels and the Irish bailout programme.
He has been an Irish Times journalist since 1998, previously working as Senior Business Correspondent and Political Reporter.
He is from Dublin and studied journalism at Dublin City University.
Dee Forbes has been appointed a non-executive director of The Irish Times Ltd.
Ms Forbes is president and managing director of Discovery Networks Western Europe. Headquartered in London, she manages all commercial and channel activities for Discovery Networks Western Europe’s business, covering 18 factual and entertainment brands in 17 markets.
Ms Forbes was previously at Turner Broadcasting, part of Time Warner, where she ran Turner’s business in Britain and Ireland.
Before joining Turner, she was an account director at Media Audits, a media consultancy. She began her career at Young and Rubicam Media in London.
A native of Co Cork, Ms Forbes is a graduate of University College Dublin.
