Woman in Louth is third road fatality in 24 hours

Passenger (59) killed in Kerry while motorcyclist in 30s dies in tractor collision

A woman in her 20s died early this morning when her car crashed in Co Louth.

She is the third person to die on Irish in 24 the past hours.

The driver was alone in the car when it crashed on Main Street , Castlebellingham shortly after 2am.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services removed her body to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for a postmortem examination.The road is closed at the scene pending a technical examination.

In Co Kerry, the female passenger of a car died following a two-car collision yesterday evening. The incident took place at Ballynane, Annascaul, Co Kerry at about 6.40pm. The woman was taken to Kerry General Hospital where she died last evening.

The woman driving the car (58) and the man driving the second car (39) were removed to hospital with non-life injuries.

In Co Louth, a 39-year-old man died when his motorcycle collided with a tractor. at Tullyard, Ballymakenny Road at about 5.40pm .

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.
