Woman cyclist in 60s dies after being struck by tractor

Traffic diversions put in place following incident on Cork/Ringaskiddy road

A cyclist in her 60s has died after being involved in a crash with a tractor on the N28 road between Cork and Ringaskiddy on Wednesday afternoon.

The woman’s body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a postmortem examination was due to take place.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

Traffic diversions were put in place and forensic collision investigators attended the scene.

Traffic approaching from Shannon Park roundabout was diverted to Carrigaline and traffic from Ringaskiddy was diverted to Rapheen.

Gardaí are investigating the collision which occurred at about 1pm.
