Two men die after car hits tree in Co Louth

Two men have died after a car hit a bridge and a tree in Co Louth in the early hours of this morning.

The crash happened on the N2 at Hunterstown, about 5km from Ardee at 1.30am.

One man in his 20s died at the scene and the second was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he later died.

The road was closed for a forensic examination.

Gardaí in Ardee have appealed for witnesses.
