Two killed in Co Tipperary car crash

Two people have died following a car crash on the N52 Nenagh to Borrisokane road in Co Tipperary yesterday evening.

A man and a woman, both in their 60s, were fatally injured when the car in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a second vehicle.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s who was travelling with them was seriously injured and taken to the Midwest Regional Hospital in Limerick. The driver of the second car, a woman in her 30s, was not injured in the crash.

The scene of the crash was closed overnight to allow for an examination by a Garda forensic team.
