Man in serious condition after falling from teleporter

A man is in a serious condition after falling from a teleporter at a house in Co Offaly.

An 11-year-old boy was also injured in the incident, but his injuries have been described as non-life-threatening.

The incident occurred at a house in Cangort, Shinrone, on Thursday afternoon.

Gardaí believe both injured parties fell from the teleporter.

The 47-year-old man was seriously injured in the incident and was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital, before later being transferred to Beaumont Hospital. The nature of his injuries was not disclosed.

The 11-year-old was taken to Tullamore hospital.

The Health and Safety Authority has been notified of the incident and is expected to attend the scene on Friday.
