Limerick LGBTQ Pride Festival 2013: Limerick

Host Madonna Lucia alongside DJ and dance troupe "Audio Angels" kick things off this evening at The Parlour on Thomas Street. It promises a spectacular "dancing, fire breathing" show with some complimentary cocktails added to the mix. In keeping with the #PINKPARADE theme for this festival the Parlour will be illuminated in the colour. On Saturday there's a charity 'abseil' of Thomond Park and pride art while on Sunday there's the pride picnic and a drum and costume workshop.

All-Ireland football semi-final, Dublin V Kerry: Croke Park, Dublin

The sea of blue will descend upon Hill 16 once again on Sunday as Dublin take on Kerry in the second of this year’s All-Ireland football semi-finals. Sunday’s match is a repeat of the 2011 final. On that day the boys in blue prevailed when the final kick of the game was slotted between the post by Stephen Cluxton’s boot. There’s no doubt that Kerry will be seeking redemption following that bitter loss.

Harvest Music Festival: Greyabbey Estate, Ards, Co Down

This one day festival taking place tomorrow has lots to offer. Irish band Villagers top the lineup which includes other talents like Duke Special, Hayseed Dixie, Gareth Dunlop, The Emerald Armada, Farriers and the Belfast Community Gospel Choir.

Astronomy Ireland’s Star-B-Q: Wicklow

The organisation's biggest annual fundraiser takes place tomorrow. People from all over the country are invited to come and see some of the most amazing sights in the Universe using giant binoculars, Ireland's most powerful telescopes and strongest laser pointer. Galaxies, clusters, dying stars, planets and 'The Dolphin Nova' will all be on display. Top astronomers such as Dave Gradwell, Dr Brian Espey and David Moore will also be around sharing their knowledge. To ensure stargazers don't go hungry a barbecue - which includes marinated chicken, beef burgers, vegetable stir-fry - will be prepared early in the evening.

Lockout 1913: The Workman’s Club, Dublin

In a celebration of the 1913 Lockout's centenary, the aptly-named Workman's Club have put together a special selection of acts which includes five-piece soul and country band The Annulments, Captain Moonlight, Ian Prowse and Dundalk's poet extraordinaire Jinx Lennon.

Songs of Struggle and Protest: The Grand Social, Dublin

Another lockout commemoration, this event offers a Saturday night filled with songs of freedom, fraternity and the historical relations of the time. The acts include Francis Devine, Fergus Russell, Johnny Rage & Friends, Rhyan O’Halloran as well as Dylan Neeson and Ln Altounian.
