Dart services delayed for up to an hour because of signal fault

Commuters complain of being left sitting on train with the doors open in very cold conditions

Dozens of commuters on Dublin’s northside were delayed for almost an hour this morning.

Iarnród Éireann said a signal fault had led to a delay on its 6.45am Dart from Howth to Bray. Passengers were advised that Dublin Bus would accept rail tickets.

However some commuters complained on Twitter that they had been sitting on a Dart in Howth with the doors open in very cold conditions for more than 40 minutes. Commuters at Sutton also complained the station was unoccupied and information relayed to them was confusing.
