Bad weather hinders search for missing Mayo fisherman

Bad weather is hampering the search for a missing fisherman off the coast of Mayo.

The man, in his 20s, failed to return to Rinroe Pier on Friday and his empty boat was later found at nearby Broadhaven Bay.

His boat, a 30ft half decker was found on its side on the shoreline with power and lights still on.

The Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter joined a number of fishing boats and coast guard teams in the search on Saturday.

Gale force winds are believed to be hindering their efforts.
