How much screen time can their eyes take?

With a number of secondary schools across the State already using ipads and other tablet devices in the classroom instead of textbooks, father-of-five Mark Bundschu has called on the Departments of Health and Education to recognise the effect prolonged screen time is having on students' eyesight.

With more schools set to introduce tablet devices in September, Mr Bundschu, who owns computer store in Donegal, says children will be sitting in front of a computer screen for up to six hours during school, another two to three doing homework 'and many of them will then watch TV, catch up on social media, or play a computer game'.
