Gardaí last night identified the body of a man who was found stabbed to death in a Dublin apartment last week.

Kamal El Habsati (31), a Dutch citizen of Moroccan descent, was found in his home at Linnbhla apartments in Ballymun, Dublin, on December 5th.

A murder investigation involving some 20 officers is under way.

The alarm was raised at 4pm after a call to the emergency services by the landlord of the complex in Ballymun after he could not gain access to his property.

Gardaí forced entry and discovered the body of a man with knife wounds.

They are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity at the complex between Friday November 30th and Wednesday December 5th to contact them.

A spokesman said gardaí had “a particular interest” in those dates in terms of “activity at that apartment”.

Anyone with information can contact the incident room at Ballymun Garda station on 01-6664400, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
