Two of the four people arrested in connection with the investigation into a cash-in-transit robbery in Dublin yesterday have been released without charge.

The two, both women, were arrested in the Finglas area of north Dublin following the robbery at the Orwell Shopping Centre in Templeogue along with two men.

The women were freed late last night.

According to gardaí, a security worker had been confronted as he made a cash collection at the shopping centre.

The men involved, one of whom was said to be armed with what was described as a firearm, escaped with cash in a car later found abandoned at the Spawell carpark shortly afterwards.

A car was later stopped in Finglas as part of a Garda follow-up operation and two men and two women were detained.
