Gardaí last night identified the body of a man who was found stabbed to death in a Dublin apartment last week.

Kamal El Habsati (31), a Dutch citizen of Moroccan descent, was found in his home at Linnbhla apartments in Ballymun, Dublin, on December 5th.

A murder investigation involving some 20 officers is under way.

The alarm was raised at 4pm after a call to the emergency services by the landlord of the complex in Ballymun after he could not gain access to his property.

Gardaí forced entry and discovered the body of a man with knife wounds.

They are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity at the complex between Friday November 30th and Wednesday December 5th to contact them.

A spokesman said gardaí had “a particular interest” in those dates in terms of “activity at that apartment”.
