The Compact Rimless toilet is compact (62.5cm by 82.5cm), saves on water and is hygienically hands-free. It has a dual-power flush cistern, Gerbrit fittings, a soft-close seat and backs to the wall to conceal pipe work. The toilet uses four litres for a main flush and 2.5 litres on a small flush, a third less than standard toilets. Turkish riot police fought running battles with pockets of protesters overnight, clearing the central Istanbul square that has been the focus of nearly two weeks of protests against Turkey's prime minister. By dawn, Taksim Square, strewn with wreckage from bulldozed barricades, was largely deserted and taxis crossed it for the first time since the troubles started.
