First major business Gathering event held

The first major business event of the Gathering 2013 is being streamed online today.

Aertv is stream live coverage of the Irish Technology Leadership Group’s Silicon Valley comes to Ireland summit, which kicked off at 9.30am in Cork this morning.

Speaking on the event, chief executive of Magnet Networks Mark Kellett said: ““I’m delighted to have the opportunity of introducing such an esteemed panel featuring; EMC, INTEL, Disney, Facebook, Elan and BOI at ITLG.

“The aim of the discussion will focus on the challenges of big data, but also on the emergence of mega data, its impact on the cloud and the new employment opportunities it presents for Ireland Inc,” he said.

The summit will include panel debates from Irish business, with representatives from influential organisations such as Coder Dojo, Enterprise Ireland, Optivia Biotechnology, Irish Principal’s Network and Cisco taking part.

This is not the first time Aertv have streamed an ITLG summit, according to Aertv director Philippe Brodeur.

“Aertv streamed the ITLG Summit live from Silicon Valley last year and we’re excited to be able to facilitate another ITLG event coming live from Cork,” he said.

“Ireland has a wealth of technology skills and the line-up for the panel debates should appeal to a broad spectrum of people worldwide – from technology’s place in business to health and education, there is something of value to everyone here.”
