A DERRY woman is in a serious but stable condition in a Boston hospital after she was attacked while on a night out early yesterday. Ms Siobhan Fegan (32) was a back-seat passenger in one of two taxis taking her and her friends home from a night out in the Brendan Behan bar. As the taxi was about to drive away, a rock was hurled through its side window. Ms Fegan was hit on the right side of the skull. She was brought to the Beth Israel Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery. Her friends at first thought she had been shot, but doctors later said no bullet fragments had been found. Ms Fegan is an accountant in Boston. Her father, Mr Joe Fegan, is a former SDLP mayor of Derry.
