The father of Trevor Deely has said he is as far away from understanding his son’s disappearance now as he was when he went missing 12 years ago this week.

Trevor Deely, a bank employee from Naas, Co Kildare, disappeared after a Christmas party in Dublin on December 8th, 2000. He would be 34 now. The last sighting of him was at 4.15am, when CCTV footage showed him crossing Baggot Street Bridge and heading towards Haddington Road.

Michael Deely said the family was none the wiser, 12 years later, despite many appeals for information.

“That’s what makes it hard to live with. There’s nothing, absolutely nothing, to go on. The only positive that we can get out of that is that at least if there was anything terrible it would have surfaced at this stage,” he said.
