Cyclist dies after Kerry collision

Road closed at Kilcummin Cross to facilitate examination by garda forensic investigators

Gardaí in Killarney are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that resulted in the death of a male cyclist last night.

The man, who was in his late 60’s, was fatally injured when he was struck by a mini-bus at Kilcummin Cross on the Tralee to Killarney road at about 9.45pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Tralee General Hospital. The mini-bus driver was uninjured in the crash.

The main Tralee to Killarney road has been closed at Kilcummin Cross to facilitate an examination by garda forensic investigators and diversions are in place.
