Three more people arrested over Jobstown protests

Total held in relation to incident in which Tánaiste was trapped in car reaches 20

Gardaí have said another three were arrested on Friday morning in relation to the anti-water charges protest in Jobstown last November.

A spokesman said a man and a woman were being detained, and a juvenile was arrested in Tallaght.

This brings the total number of confirmed arrests this week to 20.

Three men and two teenagers were arrested and questioned yesterday.

All of those arrested to Thursday have been released without charge.

The investigation relates to a protest, which trapped Tánaiste Joan Burton in her car for several hours.

A water balloon was also thrown at her head during the protest.

Socialist TD Paul Murphy said the people were being held at Tallaght and Rathfarnham garda stations.

Mr Murphy and two county councillors were among four people arrested and questioned by gardaí on Monday.
