Three men charged in relation to fatal shooting of dissident
Three Dublin men appeared before a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court in Dublin on Saturday night charged in connection with the fatal shooting of dissident republican Peter Butterly in Co Meath last Wednesday.
Mr Butterly was shot dead in the car park of the Huntsman Inn at Gormanston, Co Meath.
Edward McGrath (31), Land Dale Lawns, Springfield, Tallaght, and Dean Evans (22), Grange Park Rise, Raheny, were charged with having a pistol and ammunition. They were also charged with membership of the IRA. David Cullen(28), Brackenwood Avenue, Balbriggan, was charged with the unlawful possession of a pistol. They were arrested under the Offences Against the State Act. The court remanded all three in custody until March 14th.
