Ten teenagers held over Dublin thefts and assaults

Males and females aged between 14 and 19 years arrested after properties raided

Ten people aged between 14 and 19 years have been arrested in connection with a number of robberies, thefts and assaults in central Dublin.

Seven males and three females were arrested after gardaí searched properties in Dublin and Co Louth this morning.

The searches were carried out by gardaí investigating a series of robberies from the person, assaults and thefts that occurred in the Dublin 2 area over the summer months.

More than 70 members of An Garda Síochána took part in the operation.

The 10 teenagers are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in Garda stations at Pearse Street, Kevin Street, Kilmainham, Terenure, Sundrive Road, Irishtown, Mountjoy and Store Street.

They can be detained for up to 24 hours.
