Foul play ruled out in death of couple in Co Wexford

Gardaí are to prepare a file for the coroner's court after a pathologist ruled out foul play in the death of a couple whose bodies were found in a house in Co Wexford on Monday.

The bodies of Stephen DeLoughry (28) and Melissa Giltrap (32) were found in a house in the Woodlands estate in Clonroche, near Enniscorthy, at about 4.30pm on Monday.

Gardaí were notified and a forensic examination was carried out by garda technical experts before the bodies were removed to Waterford University Hospital for post-mortems.

Gardaí have not disclosed the results of the post-mortems but garda sources confirmed they are satisfied foul play was not a factor in either death.

They said gardaí are awaiting toxicology tests on samples taken at post-mortem to confirm the exact cause of death for the young couple.

It is understood the garda investigation is focusing on the possibility the couple may have died as a result of ingesting a combination of drugs and alcohol.

Mr DeLoughry was originally from Blanchardstown in Dublin but moved to Clonroche a number of years ago while Ms Giltrap was from Gimont Avenue in Enniscorthy.

Ms Giltrap is survived by her daughter, Chloe from a previous relationship and by her parents, Robert and Lily and brother, Robert and sister, Leonie.
