Men seen setting fire to car after shooting in south Dublin

Gardaí are investigating an attempted shooting outside a pub in Firhouse in south Dublin last night.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred on the Old Court Road at around 6.50pm.

Gardaí said two men were seen trying to set fire to a black Volkswagen Golf at Old Court Cottages in the area, which “may be connected with [the] attempted shooting”.

The men tried unsuccessfully to stop a number of cars along Old Court Road before scaling a wall into Old Court Manor Estate.

Gardaí would like anyone who was in the Old Court area of Firhouse between 6pm and 8pm last night to contact them at Rathfarnham Garda Station on 01-666 6500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
