Man to appear in court over €700,000 cannabis haul

A man is to appear in court on Wednesday charged in connection with the seizure of cannabis worth €700,000 in Co Kildare.

The haul was found at Ard Scoil in Athy on Monday night following what gardaí described as a planned search of a property.

A man (43) was arrested in Athy on Tuesday morning in connection with the seizure. He was questioned at Kildare Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He is due to appear before Naas District Court later on Wednesday.
