Man held after €110,000 cannabis seizure in Waterford

A 27-year-old man has been arrested following a drug seizure of €110,000 in Waterford city yesterday.

Gardaí found 5.5kg of cannabis herb during a search at an apartment at Penrose Court, Penrose Lane.

The man is being questioned at Waterford Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

The search was part of an ongoing operation by gardai in Waterford to combat drug dealing.
