A man has been arrested in connection with the theft in January of an ATM in Tubbercurry, Co Sligo.

Gardaí investigating the incident arrested the 42-year-old man yesterday. He was charged at Ballymote Garda station and appeared before a special sitting of Carrick-on-Shannon District Court this afternoon.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Hartstown District Court, Castlerea, at 10.30am on August 22nd.

The ATM was stolen early on January 29th. It was recovered that morning along with a small van and a digger at Carrowneden, Coollaney, Co. Sligo.
