A man has been arrested after gardaí seized a consignment of cannabis herb worth €600,000 in Co Meath on Wednesday.

The drugs were discovered as the result of a “controlled delivery” carried out by Revenue’s customs service and gardaí. The technique involves detecting a delivery of drugs and tracking it.

About 30kg of cannabis herb was seized and a man in his 30s was arrested. He is being held at Finglas Garda station under the Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.

The operation came as part of investigations targeting drug trafficking in the Meath area, according to gardaí.
