Heroin worth an estimated €48,000 seized during search of house in Lucan

Two gardaí were assaulted and a patrol car rammed during a search of a house in Dublin last night.

Gardaí from Ronanstown discovered heroin worth an estimated €48,000 at a house off Balgaddy Lane in Lucan at around 6.45pm.

Two gardaí were assaulted during the operation and their patrol car was rammed.

They are currently being treated at Tallaght Hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Ronanstown Garda station, but has since been released.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
