Firearm and cocaine seized in Dublin
Man in custody after planned search of house in Poppintree
A forensic examination was carried out at the house this morning.
A man is in custody after gardaí seized a firearm and cocaine worth over €20,000 in Dublin yesterday evening.
The firearm, some ammunition and the drugs were found during a planned search of a house in Poppintree, Dublin 11.
During the course of the search gardaí recovered a 9mm pistol, 8 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of cocaine estimaged to have a street value of €21,000.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Ballymun Garda Station. He can be held for up to 72 hours. A forensic examination was carried out at the premises this morning.
