Victim (32) dies in hospital following Stradbally incident

A cyclist was killed in a collision with a car in Co Waterford last night.

The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital following the incident at Ballyvoile, Stradbally, Co Waterford at about 6.50pm last night.

He was taken to University Hospital in Waterford where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Gardaí closed the road last night for a forensic examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Kilmacthomas Garda station on 051- 295630 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Separately, gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to a crash last Monday in which a motorcyclist was killed.

The 22-year-old man’s motorbike collided with a car on Ballygall Parade, Finglas, Dublin 11 at about 5.05pm on June 16th.

He sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the Mater hospital in Dublin, where he died on Wednesday.

The motorcycle involved was a Red Aprilia with a Northern Ireland registration.

There were no other injuries.
