Cocaine worth €378,000 found in sweets at Dublin airport

Man appears in court in connection with discovery of 5.4kg of Class A drug

A 50-year-old man has been remanded in custody following the seizure of 5.4kg of cocaine with a street value of €378,000 at Dublin Airport yesterday.

Revenue said the Romanian national arrived on a flight from Abu Dhabi with “289 pellets of the drug concealed in sweets”.

The man was arrested and later appeared in court where Judge Anthony Halpin remanded him in custody for a week to appear in Cloverhill Court on November 14th.
