About 200kg of drug was stashed in catering tins of olives in oil that arrived from Spain

Cannabis worth €4.5 million has been seized in Dublin.

The haul, bound for Britain, was found stuffed into tins of olives at Dublin Port after a profiling operation by Revenue Customs officials.

About 200 kgs of the drug had been divided into small parcels which were double vacuum packed and individually stashed in 1,050 catering tins of olives in oil.

The shipment is believed to have arrived in Dublin from Spain but is though to have been destined for the UK market.
