Appeal issued over whereabouts of missing teen

Gardaí­ in Kells have issued an appeal to the public for help in tracing a 17-year-old boy who has been missing since the early hours of yesterday morning.

Ricky McDermott from Clonabreany, Crossakiel, Oldcastle, Co Meath, was last seen on Church Street, Virginia, Co Cavan between the hours of 12.30am and 1am.

He was wearing blue jeans, a white shirt with a grey pinstripe, a navy jacket and brown shoes.

He is described as 182.8cm (6 foot) in height, with black hair, brown eyes and is of average build.
